2. Select your Volotea flights
We'll show you all available routes to your desired destination and on the travel dates you have chosen. To fly with Volotea, select Volotea as your preferred airline to fly with. You can also choose whether you'd like a non-stop flight or a connecting flight, the times you depart/arrive and which aircraft you'd prefer to fly on.

Baggage Policy
Carry-on Baggage
Your carry-on baggage allowance with Volotea will vary depending on the type of fare you have purchased.
Standard
- 1 x carry-on bag that fits underneath the seat in front of you.
Megavolotea
- 1 x carry-on bag that fits underneath the seat in front of you
- 1 x cabin bag weighing up to 10kg
Megavolotea Plus
- 1 x carry-on bag that fits underneath the seat in front of you
- 1 x cabin bag weighing up to 10kg
Your carry-on bag cannot be larger than 40 x 30 x 20 cm.
Your cabin baggage must not exceed the maximum dimensions of 55 x 40 x 20 cm.
Don't forget that liquids must travel in bottles of up to 100ml.
Checked Baggage
Checked baggage isn't included in any of Volotea's fares. You can purchase checked bags weighing up to 10kg, 20kg or 25kg.
You're allowed up to 5 pieces of luggage to a maximum of 50kg per passenger.
Special/Oversized Baggage
If you need to take special equipment with you for your Volotea flight, you can do so during your booking journey here at Alternative Airlines or by contacting us directly after you have booked your flight.
Special baggage includes sports equipment (such as surfboards, snowboards, windsurf boards, golf bags and bicycles) and musical instruments.
The maximum weight allowed for special baggage when flying with Volotea is 32kg per item.
Check-In
Online Check-in
Online check-in is available for Volotea flights. You can check in via your mobile, tablet or computer.
Volotea App
- On your mobile or tablet, simply download the Volotea app (iOS or Android).
- Once downloaded, you should be able to log in or enter your booking number and surname to access the Check-In section.
- You can receive your boarding passes after checking in - we recommend saving your boarding passes on your device for easier access when you board your flight!
Alternatively, you can visit Volotea's official website, log in or enter your booking number and surname, then access the Check-In section. You should then be able to download and print your boarding passes.
- If you booked a seat on your Volotea flight, you can download/print your boarding passes as soon as your booking is confirmed up until 2.5 hours before departure.
- If you didn't book a seat, you can check in online from 4 days up until 2.5 hours before departure.
Airport Check-in
If you don't have a printer or you are having trouble getting your boarding passes via the Volotea app, you can check in at the airport, however, this is a service that you will need to add before you arrive at the airport.
Volotea charges €10 per passenger to add the airport check-in service.
It's important that you add this service to your booking (either while managing your booking or in the online check-in process with Volotea) to avoid being overcharged. If you don't book Volotea's airport check-in service and don't bring a printed boarding pass to the airport with you, you will be charged €30 per passenger.
Check-in desks open 2 hours before departure and close 35 minutes before takeoff.
